Mission Statement
The Scleroderma Society of Ontario is committed to promoting increased public awareness, advancing patient wellness and supporting research in scleroderma.
Welcome to our new web-site!
There is no doubt that education is critical to ensure prompt diagnosis and appropriate treatments for patients, and increasingly the internet is playing an integral role in the dissemination of that information. Our web-site is a powerful tool for ensuring that up to date, accurate information is presented in a patient friendly format. I believe this new site does exactly that. I would like to offer a huge personal thank-you to:
Susan Docherty-Skippen: Patient Research Educator with the Hamilton Scleroderma Group has proven to be a truly phenomenal asset to the SSO and scleroderma patients throughout the province. Her tireless efforts in developing, editing and populating this site with content, and her ongoing commitment to education of patients, their families, and members of the medical community, is inspiring!
Marcie Leonard: Volunteer extraordinaire, and daughter of a scleroderma patient. Your desire to make a difference and your commitment of so many hours to this project has been remarkable!
Zack Seropian: Web designer/graphic marketing specialist of Echo Element, whose patience, skill and guidance throughout the evolution of this redesign cannot be understated.
Aron & Amber Burche: Of A and A Memories Photography for their generous donation of their talents to photograph our patient volunteers for this site. We are so very lucky to have the support of such great friends.
Norma Augustine: There is nothing that occurs at the SSO that Norma does not play an integral role in. We are lucky to have her at the nerve centre of this organization.
And of course, to the Board of Directors, Support Group Leaders and so many other Volunteers whose make this organization what it is. Thank you is just so inadequate!
